There is an official coffee flavour wheel produced by the Speciality Coffee Association, in conjunction with a World Coffee Research Sensory Lexicon. These tools help testers to identify the flavors that each coffee sample is giving the taster.
The SCA wheel poster costs $20, but there are a few alternatives available from other sources. One such source is from Counter Culture Coffee.
There is also an interactive wheel, by Not Bad Coffee, we found this works ok on desktop computers but it’s a bit fiddly on mobile phones. Haven’t tested on a tablet, so have a look and see whether this or the plain one works better.
